Crafted by hand. Reclaimed by heart.
They dot our nation’s countryside. Stoic monuments to history. Visual reminders of our rich, rustic, hard-working past. They’re American barns. And as these relics age beyond use, we’re honored to salvage their wood, pay homage to their history and repurpose their priceless patina in the form of gorgeous frames for your space.
Farm to Frame
During the tearing-down-process, we are extra-conscious of treating the wood so it will be safe for reuse. Once in our workshop, we handcraft the boards into wonderfully unique picture frames. Each one telling a different story through its one-of-a-kind woodgrain, knots and finish.
From farm to frame, we love taking opportunity to capture this aspect of Americana, embracing the beauty it still holds and transforming it into something that can live on in your space for years.
The Right Fit
We see it all the time in comments and reviews from our customers. They’re always so excited and appreciative to land a picture frame that compliments and completes the art within. (Instead of competing or stealing the show) So check out our suggestions for the type of art that pairs perfectly with the rustic style of our barnwood frames.
The more vintage, aged and worn, the better! Maps are the perfect compliment to the aged, nostalgic quality of the barnwood. And together? They create the ultimate boho wall decor. Added bonus? There are tons of vintage maps available FREE online. Pop one in a frame and voila! An awesome statement piece.
If you’ve perused Pinterest lately, you know typographic art is BIG right now! Like, huge. It’s an in-the-moment way to create trendy, minimalist art while putting your personal beliefs and mottos on display. The simplicity of the type plays off the unique characteristics of the barnwood for a unique wow factor.
Wood’s natural texture complements the nature captured in the painting, heightening the drama of the piece. Landscapes of waterfronts are especially reflective, as the driftwood-feel of the barnwood really shines through! We love seeing these shared to our website. Each and every one: stunning.
Suit Your Space
Now you know what to put in your wonderful, one-of-a-kind barnwood picture frame. So, here’s a little inspiration for fitting it into your space!
The history and style of the barnwood frames makes them a seamless fit into the Farmhouse décor style made famous by an HGTV show called Fixer Upper. (If you haven’t heard of it, please feel free to come out from under that rock).
Going for a beachy feel? Barnwood is perfect! The driftwood feel is ideal for beach houses or a room you want to embody that beach vibe, even when you can’t smell the sea air or see your tousled beach hair.
The aged, wooden texture of these frames can also work to create needed contrast in modern spaces. The space itself exudes clean lines and modern styling, but the aged, natural texture of the frame brings softness and character to the space, chasing that cold, clinical feel, while maintaining the minimalism.
Bring on the barnwood!
