Our Master Giclee Printmaker, William Tiemann, ensures that the Renoirs are perfect before allowing them to be carefully packed and shipped.

A Fine Art Reproduction Worthy of a Masterpiece
The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. — the very first museum of modern art in the U.S. — commissioned framed giclee reproductions of one of the Collection's centerpieces: Pierre-Auguste Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party (1880-81). These professionally finished prints, of one of the most celebrated Impressionist paintings, were among the top prizes for eight lucky attendees at a fundraising event for the Collection.

Grand Frames for Grand Pieces
At approximately 4' x 5', these extra-large pieces required a substantial frame, both for structural support and balance of presentation. With the guidance of our Senior Framing Consultant, our clients at the Phillips Collection decided on the aptly named Renoir DV11, an extra-wide moulding with a deep profile and rich gold finish. As a bonus, this frame's lighter composite construction shaved about 25 pounds off the final hanging weight of the presentation (as compared to wood) — reducing shipping costs and saving the lucky winners a lot of trouble when the time came to hang their prizes.

Recreating the Work of an Impressionist Master
Luncheon was reproduced in eight giclee prints on matte finish canvas, for the most faithful representation of the original masterpiece possible. Our Master Giclee Printmaker spent hours ensuring that the final prints replicated Renoir's exquisite colors and brushwork down to the last detail. Thanks to our archival-grade canvas and inks, these stunning prints are guaranteed to retain their rich colors for at least 75 years.

Custom Shipping Solution Protects the Final Product in Transit
To guarantee that these valuable reproductions arrived in perfect condition, we individually covered each piece in layers of cellular cushioning wrap and palletized the entire order, separated by sturdy foamcore sheets. The entire pallet was held snugly together by a final envelope of cellular cushioning wrap. As anticipated, the prints arrived just as beautiful as they day they left our workshop.
