Our state-of-the-art giclee printing service provides the best possible image reproduction available for single- or small-run printing, and our papers and inks are all archive-quality so your print will be enjoyed for generations. First, upload your image file; then you can resize your image, crop it, and enhance it with artistic filters. All frames are classified as Custom-made, Ready-made, and Metal sectional.

Each Custom-Made or Metal frame is priced as a set of two pairs. One pair consists of two equal lengths or sides. It takes two pairs to make one frame—for example, a 22" x 28" frame consists of one 22" pair and one 28" pair. Fear not, our online store will do the math for you!

Due to the assembly method applicable to metal frames, they are always shipped as sectionals and cannot ship in assembled form, no matter what the size.

Size restrictions:

Frames can be ordered up to size 83"x83".

Metal frames are not available in sizes less than 4" and the maximum available is 83" online.

Most custom frames (non metal) are available in sizes 4" to 83" (some wider mouldings require minimum sizes above 4"). We assemble custom made (non metal) frames with combined inches of 50" or less for no additional fees. Custom made frames (non metal) with combined inches over 50" up to 65" can be assembled for $5.00 per frame upon request (a check box is provided at the time of frame ordering). Additional shipping charges may apply for oversized frames.

Ready-Made frames are available only in the sizes shown for each collection. They are priced as a complete frame on their respective pages.

Frames exceeding 65" in total cannot be shipped assembled, due to ICC shipping size regulations. Only trucking companies can ship sizes that large, at a very high cost. (For example, a frame of 32" x 40" equals 72" and cannot ship assembled.)

The rabbet is the recess on the back inside edge of the frame, into which the artwork fits. On pictureframes.com, "rabbet size" refers to the depth of this recess. For most framing projects, any rabbet size is fine.

Metal Frames:
Most of our metal frames have enclosed rabbets (see diagram). When you're framing a very thick piece — like a stretched canvas — in a metal frame, be sure to choose one with a rabbet that will accommodate the thickness of the piece.

Custom-Made and Ready-Made Frames:
These frames have open rabbets, so they will work for almost any framing project.

Choose from three types of mats and dozens of mat colors. Preview endless combinations of mats, frames and uploaded art in the Personal Frame Shop and Print & Frame. We offer White Core, Black Core and Rag Mats, all of which may be used as single or double mats with any of our frames.

White and Black Core mats are decorative matboards made of wood pulp buffered with calcium carbonate to protect your artwork from harmful acidity.

Rag Mats are made of cotton fibers which are naturally acid-free and lignin-free. The choice for conservation framing, cotton is time-tested and naturally free of any chemicals or pollutants that would degrade matboard or artwork.

Mats may also be purchased in pre-cut standard sizes, with custom-cut window openings, or in bulk (boxes of 18). Create a mat with one of our unique shape openings, or, build a Custom Collage mat of your very own.

Please consider that in order to hold your artwork in place, your mat window opening should be 1/4" smaller than the size of your artwork. Currently, the largest mat size offered is 32" x 40" (outside dimensions).

A framing kit consists of clear or non-glare acrylic, wire, screws, hangers, and either FoamCore or corrugated cardboard backing. When it's added to your artwork, it completes your frame.

You may have noticed that we offer two kinds of backing board on our website - FoamCore and corrugated cardboard. There are actually very good reasons why FoamCore is the right choice at some times and corrugated is the way to go for others.

Worth The Price For What's Priceless
While FoamCore is more expensive than Corrugated backing, it does have certain advantages. For one thing, it's been buffered to slow down the deterioration caused by acid and lignans, so if preservation and protection of your artwork is a high priority, then choose FoamCore. So, whether you're framing original artwork that Junior whipped up in 1st grade, valuable collector prints, limited editions, treasured family photographs like the ones from your Great-Grandmother's wedding, documents with historical value, or important family documents, then FoamCore is the way to go.

Corrugated backing is great for anything that's not as precious. A professional license that gets updated every year or two doesn't need FoamCore because it's simply not intended to be a permanent framing job. And Corrugated backing is the perfect compliment to an item like a commercially produced poster; poster paper is heavy enough that the dark color of the backing won't compromise your art. And, if you're looking to keep costs down, then working with Corrugated backing is an added bonus.

Light Vs. Dark
Additionally, because FoamCore is white, it's great backing for art that has any degree of translucence. Items like a collage on rice paper or an animation cell will be better served by FoamCore than brown Corrugated backing, that will darken and detract from your art.

Some frames are hand-finished and natural wood, so minor variations are to be expected. We're sorry for any inconvenience this creates.

For safety reasons, the minimum size for our Custom-Made frames is 4" and the minimum size for our Metal Sectional frames is 5". Going any smaller brings our saw operators' hands too close to the blades.

This is a general minimum. Note that some of our extra-wide frame styles have a larger minimum size.

Due to federal shipping regulations, frames over 90" combined outside dimensions(width + height, taking into account moulding width) cannot be shipped assembled by our standard carriers. This frame will be shipped unassembled with easy instructions and assembly materials. Back in 1965, up-and-coming artists Joan and Stephen Feinsod faced a constant challenge, brought on by the commercial success of their work: Where to find affordable picture frames that met their high standards of artistry and excellence? For these two, the solution was to order large quantities of quality framing materials and create their own frames at an exceptional value.

Little did they know, as they put their first custom-made frames together and sold the extras to fellow artists at shows and exhibitions, they were planting the seed for one of the largest and most respected framing companies in America. Soon, they were in heavy demand and found themselves spending more time and effort filling picture frame orders and less time painting and sketching.

Several years later, with their full-time commitment, Joan and Stephen moved Graphik Dimensions Ltd. (GD) out of their home and into its first real location in Flushing, NY, where the GD family grew in leaps and bounds. Size (Non-metal frames)
Maximum size for non-metal frames (and all Print & Frames) is 35" combined inches. ("Combined inches" means the measurements of each dimension of the frame, so the size of a 10" x 20" frame is 30" combined inches.)

Metal frames always ship in sections with complete kit for easy home assembly, so there are no special size restrictions for international shipping.

Glass
Our standard products include high-quality acrylic glazing — this is available to all international customers, as usual. Glass is available only for large contract orders, but we cannot ship glass overseas due to breakage concerns.

Returns can be processed by calling 1-800- 332-8884. Lost or damaged items will be replaced free of charge. OutletShop items cannot be returned. No returns, exchanges or claims will be honored more than 45 days beyond order date.

Because PictureFrames.com is a wholesale picture frame manufacturer and dealer, our frames are already heavily discounted.
