Rag Mats — And NEW! Suede Mats
Conservation Quality, Enduring Elegance, Unsurpassed Value
Our Rag Mats are made of 100% cotton fiber core and backing which are naturally 100% acid-free and lignin-free. Similarly, our Acid-Free Suede Mats offer a beautiful suede texture on premium acid-free conservation core and backing.
In both cases, the conservation surface is buffered with calcium carbonate to an alkaline reserve of 3-5%, so you can be sure they won't degrade your artwork or photographs.
NOTE: Decor quality Suede Mats are also available. They are buffered, but not acid-free and offered at an even greater value.

1. Personal Frame Shop – see your image matted and framed before you buy. In the Matting section, open the Mat Color Chart and click on "Rag Mats", "Acid Free Suede Mats" or "Decorative Suede Mats" at the top.
2. Print & Frame Shop – see your image matted and framed before you buy AND we'll print your image with fine art materials. Arrives ready-to-hang! In the Matting section, open the Mat Color Chart and click on "Rag Mats", "Acid Free Suede Mats" or "Decorative Suede Mats" at the top.
3. Our Custom Mats page is where you'll find ALL your mat options. Open the Mat Color Chart and click on "Rag Mats", "Acid Free Suede Mats" or "Decorative Suede Mats" at the top.
4. When you order a Ready-Made or Custom-Made or Metal frame, you will be prompted to select "Frame with Matting" if you wish. In step C, open the Mat Color Chart and click on "Rag Mats", "Acid Free Suede Mats" or "Decorative Suede Mats" at the top.
5. A classic, white Rag Mat is also an integral part of our Conservation Kits, perfect for those times when you'd like the upgraded UV-Blocking Glazing and other elements designed to preserve and protect your artwork and photographs.
