Pictureframes.com Chosen to Reproduce Renoir Painting for The Phillips Collection
Celebrating an Incredible Work of Art
The famous Luncheon of the Boating Party (1880-81), painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, is the heartbeat of a prestigious and internationally recognized collection known as The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. – America’s very first museum of modern art. The Luncheon of the Boating Party is considered by many to be one of the greatest impressionist paintings ever created. So, when the renowned painting returned after a four-year tour around the world, the members of the museum threw a grand gala to welcome the oil on canvas home.
A Renoir Fit for a Renoir
For the celebration, pictureframes.com was chosen to create eight giant (approximately 4 x 5 foot) giclee reproductions of Luncheon of the Boating Party.
So, which paper and frame were chosen to recreate this legendary piece?
The artwork was printed on our Matte Finish Canvas and each fine art giclee print was framed in the glorious custom-made (what else?) Renoir DV11. This frame, with a width measuring 4 ¼", was clearly the most elegant choice for these extraordinary reproductions of the well-known classic.
Museum Quality for You
Whether it’s a Renoir reproduction, or your personal art and photographs, everyone gets the same beautiful museum quality and personal care when enlarging, reproducing and framing any work of art.
