We're Growing Green Like Never Before

We're proud to partner with UPS, the leader in eco-shipping. We recycle our unused acrylic, so that it can be reused for multiple industries.
Our goal is to produce zero landfill waste! We're recycling everything from scrap material to aluminum cans and office paper. In an effort to shrink our carbon footprint, we've installed a more energy-efficient, heat reflective roof with skylights.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability PolicyGraphik Dimensions Ltd. is dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint in every possible way. The steps we've taken so far are just the beginning of a journey towards our future as a 100% sustainable enterprise. As an organization, a key part of our mission is to continuously seek out new opportunities to operate in harmony with our planet.

Here's what we've accomplished so far.

Products

For starters, we will never purchase endangered species wood or buy from protected forests. In fact, the majority of our wood materials come from managed forests. Meaning, the wood we consume is more like the farm yield from a rotating crop — and the crop gets replanted for later yields.

We seek out domestic suppliers. The majority of our moulding is purchased domestically for the wisest use of resources.

We use recycled materials wherever possible. For example, beyond our woods, we also use the best of moulding derived from responsibly recycled materials. This includes Bamboo, a member of the grass family and one of the most renewable and sustainable materials on the planet.

Doing Business

We recycle as much of the ingredients of commerce as possible. Today, we recycle almost everything: aluminum, cardboard, acrylic glazing, bubble wrap, office paper, gently-used equipment, etc.

We donate anything we can’t use or recycle for creative use elsewhere, whenever possible. We give to schools, art programs and nonprofits who can use the material as building blocks of creativity.

We recently reduced our total waste by 40 percent – thanks to our increased awareness and ongoing efforts to improve recycling.

Our Technology department has implemented a computer power-saving plan, which has helped the computers in our building run more efficiently and use less energy. Current estimates have our computers using more than half as much electricity in a year as before: down to 400.4 kilowatt-hours from 936 kilowatt-hours.

And watch for special events designed to help the environment, including promotions where a portion of the profits go to a worthy charity. Our favorite charity is American Forests' Global ReLeaf Program. Join our E-List to find out about these special promotions.

Catalog

Our catalog is printed by facilities with superior eco-standards, and we constantly evaluate ways to make our catalog printing process efficient and healthy for the planet.

The printing of our catalog actually helps clean the air – not pollute it, thanks to state-of-the-art pollution control equipment used during the printing process. Specialized oxidizers, build into the dryers of the printing press, use ink solvent as fuel and destroy 99.9 percent of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) created during the production process, while cleaning the air. VOCs harm the planet's environment and atmosphere.

The paper used in the catalog comes from sustainably
managed forests
, certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.

Producing the catalog wastes no water. A water conservation system filters and reuses the water needed for the catalog's printing presses.

None of the by-products created in printing the catalog, including excess paper, end up in a landfill – everything is recycled.

Our goal is to print our catalog on 100% recycled paper in the future. We are continually researching a combination of 100% recycled paper stock and soy-based inks that will produce the vivid, accurate color our customers need to make their presentation choices.

Relationships

We encourage and aid our vendors whenever possible in adopting positive, eco-friendly practices that will improve their operation and help the planet.

We partner with all of our vendors to make sure they operate with integrity when it comes to the environment and all other aspects of business.

We know the conservation about the environment must extend far beyond our walls and that we must constantly evolve our efforts to have the kind of impact needed to make a difference for the planet's sake. True progress comes from collaboration.
