This gold picture frame has all the classic features of a Plein Air frame. A flat face creates clean lines and the rounded outer edge adds just the right amount of distinctive detail. Plus, a beautifully distressed, antiqued gold leaf finish, makes this natural wood frame both simple and bold.

Plein air frames are perfect for our local artist oil canvasses
Have purchased and mounted over 30 plein air style frames for use with the oil paintings we have collected over the past decade from local artists. These frames are consistently high quality and easy to use. One tip: go to the craft store and buy a sheet of 1/8" foam core board to use as a backing which allows the frame a more snug fit with the supplied clips.

I recently painted a stream with yellow flowers along its edge. I thought this plein air style gold frame would highlight the flowers. It was on sale and a great value as well.

If i give you a picture size of 5 by 7 will the frame's rabbit cover part of these dimensions?
Gretchen L on Feb 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello Gretchen. The frame's rabbet is referring to the depth of the frame. The rabbet is where the artwork will recess inside the frame. The lip of the frame is what will cover part of the artwork. The lip of our frames are 1/4"-3/8". Thank you for your inquiry.
