Not real wood. Vinyl on composition board.
Read the small print. Looks like wood from a distance but isnt. Cheap vinyl.

Wish it was solid maple
First, the customer service at pictureframes.com is outstanding! I'm a very happy customer. I purchase these frames frequently to frame my oil paintings for gallery display. They really look nice, but I so wish I could get these frames in solid wood. The current frame is a "wood product" with a printed maple grain covering of some sort. If you ever add a solid maple frame (or any light color wood) to your line, I'd be first in line to try it out.

Beautiful frame, well-constructed.

Works well with watercolors
