will this work with a canvas that is 1/2 inch deep?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Tommie. This frame would not be able to hold your canvas as it only has a 1" depth. Our large floater frames can work for you. Thank you!
It the frame made of solid wood, or is is made out of MDF?

Does the Frame only option come with a sheet of plastic?
