San Maggiore in Gold
I chose this frame for its simplicity and width for the large, hand-painted reproduction of Monet’s “San Maggiore at Dusk”. I thought the mottled gold color of the frame would complement the hues of the painting, which it does perfectly. I did not consult my wife in my choice, and after I stretched the canvas, framed, and hung the new work, she was stunned with the result. Friends that have viewed it immediately notice and praise the frame as beautiful.

Quality and Elegant
I used this frame on a recent pastel still life for a client requesting a bright gold frame. This frame is solid, well-made yet clean-lined. It set off my artwork beautifully!

Dissapointing
Joins we're not tight at the corners.
Each corner had a noticeable space.

Response from pictureframes.com
Hello Peter. We sincerely apologize that the corners of the frames were not properly joined. We work hard to provide excellent craftsmanship. We would like to offer you a reimbursement of %15 off the price of the frame. If you could please provide us a photo of the frame, we would greatly appreciate that. We would like to share the photo with our Operations Team in hopes to make improvements. Please email the photo to customercare@pictureframes.com. Again, we appreciate you taking the time to submit your review.

Classically Formal
This frame was just what I expected. It enhanced the painting and at the same time matched beautifully with my formal dining room. This is the second frame I've purchased from pictureframes.com and it won't be the last. One corner joint appears less than perfect but that doesn't take away from the elegance of the frame. Very happy...again.

My painting is 1 1/2 inches thick, I needed the large rabbet.
Daniel M on May 17, 2018
Because it had the deepest rabbet of the ornate frames, and as an experiment in framing a larger piece. I usually get your float frames.

I loved the profile on this one. It is a wide frame without being ornate or heavy looking.

has the width I want for a larger painting

This frame fits in with the other wedding frames in the music room. Also the overall size of the frame with the mat brings the size almost identical to the print it will be hanging next to.

What is the clearance between the picture surface and the acrylic front? I need at least a 10/16 inch clearance.

BEST ANSWER: Hello PR!

We appreciate your inquiry! Our frames typically have 1/4" lip on the frame to hold the artwork inside the frame. We have spacers available that can be placed in the track of the frame to create a space between the artwork and acrylic. We have spacers that are clear or black and are available in sizes 1/8" or 1/4". The spacers are only sold over the phone at this time. I do apologize for any inconvenience. I hope this information was helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Have an awesome day!
